Jenny Dean, Workout With Works Out for You

It’s been a long and winding road for this week’s guest to get where she is today. After years a special education teacher, Jenny Dean decided it was time for her to have kids. Following the birth of her second child, her husband was traveling nearly every day for work. She found herself feeling unfulfilled and wanting more from her own life. She took a yoga class and was immediately hooked.

Now, seven years later, she’s a professional yoga teacher. She runs retreats, leads groups in as many unique places as she can find, and is looking forward to the opening of her own training studio later this year. She’s a fitness influencer in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, who also teaches yoga teachers how to expand their own practices. It’s taken hard work, perseverance, and grit. And above all, it’s taken a commitment to building her own knowledge and experience base so she can pull the most out of life, day after day.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Find ways of working out that work for you
  • Think outside the box to build your practice
  • Incorporate fitness into your everyday life
  • Integrate different types of fitness for a well-rounded routine
  • Use fitness to engage with kids and get them active and social

“My No. 1 goal is to get like-minded people together, all in the same room, and just kind of feed off each other’s energy — the positive vibes.” -Jenny Dean

“I tell the teachers I teach to think outside of the box. You do not just need a hot yoga studio to teach yoga. I’ve taught yoga on a second-floor sundeck at a sushi restaurant on the patio at 6 o’clock on a Friday night, thinking no one would come. … And I had 72 people come.” -Jenny Dean

“The more people that are intimidated to come to a studio, the more people I am all about. … It excites me to bring in people that aren’t going to normally come into a studio.” -Jenny Dean

“If (you) want to get more of a following, you have to be everywhere. You have to meet a lot of new people.” -Jenny Dean

“I don’t even look back. I want the next thing. I want more. I’m constantly feeding myself and I hate being complacent.” -Jenny Dean
